Chapter 01

Injury Cases, Wrongful Death and Auto Accidents

For over 30 years, Rusty Antel worked in the area of personal injury. The practice covered three kinds of matters: Injury Cases, Wrongful Death and Auto Accidents, for people in Boone County, Columbia, Ashland, Hallsville and Centralia.

These matters arrive at hard moments: a collision on a county road, a death in the family, an injury that changes how a person works and sleeps. Behind each one is a stack of paperwork from hospitals and insurers that is easy to lose track of while life is already upended.

Where the practice stands now

Rusty Antel is retired from the active practice of law and is of counsel to the firm.

A new injury matter would not go to him. Whether the firm can help with a particular accident, or who you should talk to instead, is a question for the office, and it is better asked early than late.

Call (573) 442-2454, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and tell the office briefly what happened.

Chapter 03

What to keep after an accident

Photographs first: the vehicles, the road, the visible injuries as they change from week to week. Then paper: medical records and bills, letters from insurers, and the name and date of every call you have with an adjuster.

A plain log helps more than most people expect. Write down dates, the work you missed, and how you are feeling, in your own words and as it happens rather than from memory months later.

Time limits apply to injury claims and they differ by the kind of claim, so ask about them when you call. This is general information and not legal advice.

Rosemary Lewis, reviewing Rusty Antel on Google in October 2017: “Rusty Antel is an excellent attorney and has been very helpful to family and friends.”
